Ajoins the beach area at the Hard Rock Cafe... Many touts and sellers of items... Can be a problem...if you buy from one they all want you to buy something...
Poppies has some cheaper ghest houses...but they are buried inside the alleys, gangs, and lanes...and side streets...often to narrow for vehicular traffic.... Many don't have internet booking... Best to call on the phone for reservations which can be cheaper than on Legian Street...or on the main touristic streets by the beach... Basically the closer you are to the beach the more expensive the room...
Poppies has a lot of bars and shops selling souvieniors ....but that gets tedious after a while...
Bali is an ACQUIRED TASTE...that Americans seldom seek out... its mostly Aussies...and perhaps some Europeans...but Americans are Rare...
